Position will serve as an Administrative Associate II in the Sampson County Maintenance Office. The primary responsibility of this position is answering incoming calls, determining the nature and urgency of those calls and providing routine information to callers or directing calls to appropriate staff. This position is the primary point of contact for all office visitors. This position performs a wide variety of office and clerical duties to accomplish the processing of information, documents and materials. Essential job duties include, but not limited to, time entry and filing. This position will operate a personal computer and use a variety of applications including, but not limited to, SAP, Beacon, NeoGov, TIMS, Microsoft Word and Excel. Position utilizes a variety of office machines including, but not limited to, printers, copiers, calculators and shredders. Individual in this position must maintain a high degree of accuracy and multi-task in a fast-paced office.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Additional Expectations:
General knowledge of office work procedures, methods and practices. Ability to utilize Personnel Manual and Policy and Procedures Manual. Ability to work independently, prioritize daily tasks, process technical information and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to operate computer, copy machine, fax machine, multi-line telephone system and scanner. Ability to present information clearly and concisely in oral and written form in order to communicate with the public, DOT employees and governmental officials. Ability to utilize office equipment and other technology (software and systems) to meet work needs. Ability to stoop and bend for filing purposes. Valid NC Driver’s License preferred. SAP experience preferred. Microsoft Office experience preferred. Position requires work during adverse weather such as snow and/or ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. which can lead to working extended daily hours, weekends and holidays. May require work during non-traditional work hours, including nights, weekends, holidays and times of emergency.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
