PURPOSE This position is responsible for assisting with administrative academic and research support in the Mathematics and Statistics Department. RESPONSIBILITIES Administrative: 40% + Providing administrative and clerical support to the Department Head of Mathematics as well as other departmental faculty, in the execution of daily secretarial duties such as acting as a receptionist + Assist in Creating class schedules for all semesters. Enter class information in Banner as well as find rooms in Astra if needed. Process reports from Argos and Laserfiche. + Enter permissions in Banner for all student majors each semester. Work with advisors for students that need permissions and answer prerequisite questions. + Reconcile Purchasing Card (P-Card) and Travel cards for the MATH Faculty on a monthly basis. Assist and completes travel requests for all MATH faculty, (sometimes MATH students as well). Support: 30% + Provide excellent customer service to all guests by greeting customers, assisting incoming guests, answering phones, and taking messages + Assist in scheduling of faculty search events. Booking travel, hotels, transportation, creating interview schedule, and meals + Book meeting and classrooms when requested. + Assist in collecting syllabi from MATH faculty and evaluate for accuracy, complete credentialing packets for MATH faculty, adjuncts and TA’s, etc. Operations: 30% + Composes correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, and presentations including editing, proofreading, and analysis + Responds to communications and requests from students, the university community, and other external universities and firms regarding the mathematics program, curriculum, research, and the mathematics department QUALIFICATIONS + High School Diploma OR GED + Three (3) years of administrative associate or related experience. + Additional education may be considered as a substitution for the minimum requirements. + Associate degree and one (1) year of experience + Secretarial and/or business experience + Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.) + Knowledge, skills, and abilities with typing, writing, collegiality, and communication. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + BS or equivalent in Education or related fields. SALARY: $17.49 Hourly ($18,189.60 Annual, Approximately) + NOTE: This is a part-time position.
