For more information regarding the benefit package go to: West Texas A&M University: Human Resources Benefits (https://www.wtamu.edu/business-finance/human-resources/benefits.html) General Summary The Administrative Coordinator I position for Recreational Sports performs secretarial, bookkeeping and receptionist duties for the Virgil Henson Activities Center and the different Recreational Sports areas. This will include administrative support for the Director of Recreational Sports and assist the other Recreational Sports employees with travel, requisitions, and administrative tasks as needed. This position will oversee the front desk student employees of the VHAC. The coordinator will also oversee club sports. *The pay for this position starts at $16.36 per hour.* Responsibilities: + Provides advanced administrative support and may serve as a personal assistant. May maintain office schedules and appointments. Coordinates the daily functions of Sport Clubs. + Researches and analyzes administrative requirements for specific programs or projects. Provides technical information regarding administrative procedures, services, or programs + Assists in the development of office procedures, including complex or specialized functions. Explains, applies, interprets, and communicates policies and procedures. May monitor compliance with policies and procedures. + Maintains a variety of fiscal, administrative, and academic records. Verifies, processes, and reviews forms, reports, tables, and other documents. Performs special analyses and project summaries. + Assists in the planning of special events. Makes arrangements for meetings, appointments, conferences, and travel. May set up meetings, seminars, and other special events to include facilities, equipment, and food. + Coordinates the maintenance of files, records, office supplies, or equipment. Maintains office reference materials including online office materials. May deliver, pick up, or receive cash payments, documents, supplies, or materials. + Management of student workers for the VHAC student front desk assistants. + This document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions. Necessary Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience + Two (2) years of related experience, including related supervisory experience. + Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record + Must be able to obtain a State of Texas vehicle operator’s license within 30 days of employment. + Qualify to operate a vehicle within the TAMUS guidelines. + Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. + Excellent communication and customer service skills. + High energy level. + Ability to work with students in a friendly service-oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications: + Master's degree strongly preferred + Thorough knowledge of campus recreation as demonstrated with six years in Campus Recreation + Excellent telephone etiquette. + Understands processes of the University.
