Summary:
The Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) on Opioids and Overdose supports research essential to understanding the mechanisms underlying opioid overdose and developing innovative solutions.
The COBRE on Opioids and Overdose includes four �Research Cores� that provide services to local researchers. The Community Engaged Research Core (CERC) works to ensure COBRE funded research is informed by communities who are directly impacted by opioids and overdose. We recognize the importance of every aspect of research being guided and informed by community voices.
Preventing Overdose and Naloxone Intervention (PONI) serves as the harm reduction supply hub for Rhode Island. PONI collaborates closely with community harm reduction and recovery partners by providing harm reduction supplies and coordinating training and events that support harm reduction best practices.
The Coordinator position will support both CERC and PONI. For both CERC and PONI a primary function of the Coordinator position will be engaging with community partners such as staff and clients at local harm reduction recovery and treatment organizations.
Responsibilities:
COBRE CERC Responsibilities (60% time):
Primarily responsible for supporting the COBRE Community Advisory Board (CAB) which includes coordinating meetings and facilitating regular communication with the CAB and supporting researchers in collaborating with the Community Advisory Board.
Will share information regarding CERC activities via internet and social media.
Will maintain a record of CERC activities and assist in reporting.
Will coordinate weekly meetings including taking and distributing meeting notes.
Will support the Core in conducting training coordinating planning meetings and assisting in the development of curriculum.
Will support COBRE-funded researchers in the following areas:
� Regulatory and administrative functions (e.g. institutional review board application and reporting)
� Questionnaire/interview development
� Data collection (e.g. recruiting and interviewing participants)
� Literature searches
Preventing Overdose and Naloxone Intervention (PONI) (40% time):
� Under the supervision of the Director the Coordinator will support the coordination of harm reduction training with community partner staff and clients and will conduct surveys with community partner clients and report back results from those surveys. Coordinate harm reduction kit building parties and other events
� Conduct harm reduction surveys
� Distribute information from the Harm Reduction survey to clients and staff of harm reduction partners
� Support reporting to the Rhode Island Department of Health
Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
BS/BA in related field or related experience.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years professional administrative or research experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PPT).
Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
Ability to work with a team and independently.
Lived experience and comfort in issues related to substance use harm reduction homelessness chronic and/or infectious disease mental health and incarceration highly preferred.
This position will require working in the community and engaging with community partners.
