Administrative Manager, Global Pediatric Medicine
The Administrative Manager oversees and manages the business operations of a department, supervise administrative staff, assist with administration of financial processes, collect and analyze data for report generating, facilitate contracts, design and implement policies and procedures to improve quality of service. Job Overview The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is seeking an innovative and approachable Administrative Manager. Reporting to the Administrative Director, the Manager will provide oversight of GPM administrative activities and functions. They will manage a diverse administrative team that supports faculty, department leadership, program teams, and the overall department. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent emotional intelligence, be well organized, and ready to face the day-to-day challenges of a complex and growing department. Responsibilities The Administrative Manager will: Oversee day-to-day administrative operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Supervise administrative staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Develop, implement, and maintain administrative department policies and procedures. Support department projects by organizing schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring deliverables are met. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align department goals with organizational objectives. Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline operations. Utilize technology and tools to enhance administrative functions, including creating and maintaining a dashboard to present the administrative portfolio and showcase team metrics. Manage communication at all levels, within and outside the department on administrative matters. Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities. Ability to carry out broad assignments with minimal supervision. Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills. Ability to handle sensitive matters in a confidential and professional manner. Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite Cultural sensitivity is a must. All candidates must submit a cover letter to be considered for the position. Minimum Education High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Minimum Experience: Minimum Experience: 10+ years of experience managing administrative activities. Experience Exception: Bachelor's degree and 3+ years experience managing administrative activities. Experience in managing communications with cross-functional leaders/ stakeholders. Experience in managing people either directly or indirectly. Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
