If so, consider joining the Pennsylvania Department of Education as an Administrative Officer 1 in the Bureau of Food and Nutrition (BFN). This position gives you the opportunity to perform a variety of administrative work including analyzing, developing, and recommending improvements in procurement processes and procedures for the BFN. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Administrative Officer 1, you will have the opportunity to work independently as you research federal and state laws, regulations, official guidance, and required procedures to initiate purchasing and contracting documents. Work involves recommending improvements in procurement procedures within BFN to assure adherence to laws, regulation, guidance, and requirements. Work also includes preparing purchase orders, funds commitments, miscellaneous encumbrances, miscellaneous orders, and agency purchase requests as necessary. This position requires an extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word as you will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex spreadsheets and Word documents for mail merge purposes, letters, and memos.
