Shift Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Job Summary This position is critical to ensure efficient hospital operations in relation to the Business office. Under the direction of the Business office manager, the patient service coordinator senior is responsible for follow-up on denied and outstanding outpatient accounts for specified payers. The Patient services coordinator senior main responsibilities include customer service, department specific tasks, administrative duties, communication skills, and accurate documentation. The Patient service coordinator is expected to be familiar with hospital and department policies and procedures and able to utilize all resources within the ultimately contributing to the successful resolution of patient accounts. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Revenue cycle knowledge, computer applications, HIPAA competency & Healthcare finance experience. Organizational skills, exceptional and positive communication, adaptability, and ability to contribute positively to project management and quality of patient care. Must know Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The employee shall become familiar with HIPAA regulations and do their utmost to protect all protected health information (PHI) and other personal or sensitive information within their trust in the course of state business by applying appropriate safeguards and sharing only the information required to deliver agency services. Any personal or sensitive information overheard or seen by the employee will be kept confidential by not sharing it with others, on or off the work-site grounds.
