Administrative Support Assistant
Summary This position is a Administrative Support Assistant, GS- 0303-7 working in Arcata, California for the R8-Arcata Fish and Wildlife Office. Responsibilities As a Administrative Support Assistant your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Assists with the administrative, fiscal, and support services function for the field office and provides administrative support coordination between the field office, Regional Office, and various state and Federal agencies. Assists to develop and document new program applications or modifies existing programs for use within the field office (database, spreadsheets, forms, etc.). Provides fiscal and administrative assistance to field station personnel related to current policies, procedures, and regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Only experience and education obtained by 10/29/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification [GS-07] One (1) year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the GS-6 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience may include: 1) Assisting with administrative office functions; 2) Using various word processing and spreadsheet software; 3) Coordinating procurement and contracting functions; 4) Assisting in annual work planning and analyzing funding requirements; 5) Preparing/reviewing travel vouchers; 6) Preparing and submitting payment packets; 7) Serving as a timekeeper using an automated system; 8) Coordinating staff training; 9) Maintaining file system; 10) Processing of personnel functions and procedures and preparation and monitoring of personnel actions; meeting and communicating effectively with others. Your resume must contain sufficient detail to prove you have one year experience performing these duties. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
