Summary This position is located in the Upper Colorado River District in Grand Junction or Silt, Colorado. Responsibilities Serve as an Administrative Support Assistant in any Field, District, or State/Center organization within the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Perform a wide variety of administrative support functions and specialized duties each requiring a comprehensive working knowledge of special and/or complex subject matter, procedures, or practices. Serve as a principle point of contact on specific technical aspects or programs related to office administration, resolving non-recurring problems and issues. Provide advice and recommendations to management on improving administrative operations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level in which you are applying: Specialized Experience GS-07: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing at the following: (1) serving as the clerical point of contact on property and fleet matters; (2) processing transactions in an automated financial system; (3) tracking and inventorying managed property. One year of specialized experience is equivalent to 12 months at 40 hours per week. Part-time hours are prorated. You will not receive any credit for experience that does not indicate exact hours per week or is listed as "varies". Education There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement. Additional Information Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials. Working Conditions: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The work environment may involve everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, mail distribution centers, meeting and training rooms, libraries, or motor vehicles.
