Summary This position is located in the Health Care (HC) Team. HC is responsible for conducting analysis and preparing reports in all areas of health care delivery and financing. This position performs complex administrative and office support functions in HC. The focus of the work is to provide a high level of administrative service and continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of office operations. Responsibilities Maintains administrative support initiatives and tools that will facilitate and enhance the efficiency and effective of internal administrative operations and management decision making functions. Maintains and tracks selected budget functions for Health Care including monitoring expenditures for training and awards to provide budget reports to management and monitor office purchases to maintain financial spreadsheets to reconcile accounts with the Office of Financial Management and Business Operations. Assists with the incentive awards process (i.e., collecting and organizing nominations from staff, inputting decisions into HR Connect, and preparing award certificates). Inputs and extracts information into and from management information systems, such as the Engagement Management System (EMS), Business Analytics, the Product Distribution System, E2 Solutions Travel Processing System, and HR Connect to analyzes information to manage workflow and management decision making. Assists Health Care engagement teams by managing and monitoring engagement processing steps throughout the engagement. Serves as focal point for collecting and submitting the updates on (1) the status of potential mandates and new engagements for Engagement Acceptance Meetings (EAM); and (2) the status of ongoing engagements for the Engagement Review Meeting (ERM). Leads efforts to collaborate with others within and outside of mission team to develop and implement ' new and innovative administrative support initiatives and tools that will facilitate and enhance efficiency and effectiveness of internal administrative operations and internal management decision making functions. These work activities require frequent interaction with a range of GAO managers and staff-including managers/staff in the Financial Management and Business Operations, Human Capital, Information Systems and Technology Services, and Congressional Relations-to gain insights on administrative best practices. Assists analysts, upon request, in completing their work, such as by creating and organizing work papers and tracing and verifying data. Provides support to sponsored special projects by systematically collecting, organizing, analyzing, and summarizing information in support of these efforts. May include such tasks as assisting with the dissemination and collection of responses to surveys, conducting analysis to support the monthly staffing process, and other relevant tasks. Maintains calendars for assigned Directors as needed, which involves coordinating their schedules with those of subordinate staff and other GAO senior level officials. In addition, performs extensive coordination with field staff outside GAO headquarters. Manages conflicts in schedules. Coordinates the flow of work assignments, the routing of correspondence and the overall administration of day-to-day operations. Helps determine office space assignments and facility use, including the availability of space relative to current and future needs (i.e., offices, cubicles, temporary space for interns, etc.). Receives and screens incoming calls and greets visitors including high-ranking officials, Congressional staff, the media, and the general public. Determines identities of callers and the nature of business. Uses discretion and judgment in handling calls or referring requests to appropriate staff member. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications You may qualify at the AC-III level if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band level, equivalent to the AC-II level or GS-9 level in the federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1. business analytics, budget, travel, training, human resources, and/or procurement; 2. researching, analyzing, and gathering information in support of mission programs and operations; 3. preparing a variety of written products including preliminary and finished correspondence, reports and documents; and 4. providing advice and guidance on administrative and program issues. Education There is no education requirement for this position. Additional Information This is a bargaining unit position.
