Administrative Support II

Job Summary:
Reporting directly to the Supervisor of Rehabilitation Support Services, the Rehab Office Coordinator II is responsible for the daily operation of the front office/ reception area and provides secretarial services for the Outpatient Rehab Department ensuring quality and effective performance. Responsibilities include: patient reception, scheduling and registration, data entry, collecting co pays, discharging and other general clerical duties that include typing, copying, faxing and filing, telephone communication with patients, physicians, insurance companies, and other allied health professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required completion of a Medical Assistant course preferred.

Experience:
Two to three years of relevant work experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical/physician's office required.

Licensure and/or Certification:
Graduate of a Medical Assistant/Secretary program preferred

Skills:
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent telephone communication skills.
Moderate keyboarding is required.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented with strong ability to prioritize multiple duties.
Ability to work accurately with detailed confidential information and maintain confidential information
Must possess basic mathematical skills and have analytical skills to resolve referral issues related to multiple groups including third party payers, physicians, patients and varied computer systems.
Utilizes interpersonal communication strategies/skills to achieve outcome/results with patients, family and others.
Knowledge of Meditech software to schedule and register patients is required.
Knowledge of third party payers and Insurance verifications experience preferred.
Utilizes interpersonal communication strategies/skills to achieve outcome/results with patients, family and others.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
