Responsibilities You will serve as the Chief of NSWC Dahlgren Protocol, responsible for planning, managing, and executing the command's Protocol program in support of the Director, Corporate Communications (Code 103) You will plan and implement specific and special protocol guidance based on desired goals. You will plan, direct, organize, and exercise control over people and processes assigned as needed from across the command and to assist in protocol across a variety of events. You will advise the senior leavers on the impact of protocol issues and problems associated with visits and events. You will plan and coordinate internal events such as ribbon cuttings, dedication ceremonies, retirement ceremonies, etc. You will plan execute and direct all details of itineraries pertaining to all visits by distinguished visitors, including flag and general officers, members of the cabinet, members of the senior executive service. etc, You will establish support requirements and coordinate with each activity affected by the planned agenda to ensure availability of manpower and facilities as the appropriate time. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-9/10) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical expertise for all protocol manners; coordinating, managing, and arranging for visits by dignitaries and military leaders; coordinating command ceremonies; and preparing correspondence on behalf of senior military officials. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education The following Education may be substituted for Specialized experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
