ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST
Summary You will serve as a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level III Examiner within the Test and Evaluation and Prototype Division at NAVSURFWARFCTR PANAMA CITY DIVISION. Responsibilities You will leverage expert knowledge in the NDT inspection methods covering all types of structural material, welded joint inspections, and brazed joint inspections. You will advise others based on your knowledge and experience based on the applicable welding standards and publications. You will perform as a NAVSEA Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level III Examiner in the core NDT processes based on prior experience and training in the NDT field. You will utilize advanced knowledge of and familiarity with complex precision measurement surface inspection equipment, and methods needed to perform high tolerance and precision dimensional inspections of complex machined parts and assemblies. You will analyze and interpret complex formal drawings to include interpreting complex tolerance symbols and dimensions based on the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) series for interpreting drawings. You will analyze existing guidance and policies to recommend changes to senior leadership in order to comply with NAVSEA standards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications FOR NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent): Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent), or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: experience performing oversight of nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections to meet quality requirements derived from projects or programs and ensure compliance with an overarching NAVSEA NDT program. Education Additional Information SALARY CAP: The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $137,000). This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
