Hourly Rate: $19.37
Workdays/Hours: Up to 32 hours per week. Monday – Friday / between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; occasional weekends
To provide clerical and/or office support activities for city functions and staff. Incumbents assigned to this class perform routine administrative support and customer service at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices front desk. Selected candidate will be responsible for providing customer support including greeting and directing guests, receiving and screening calls, registering clients, booking facilities and processing payments and for general administrative support such as distributing mail, data entry filing, record-keeping, copying, document processing and compiling reports.
Duties/Responsibilities
+ Answers phones, responds to routine questions and/or routes callers to appropriate staff/location;
+ Greets customers; processes registration and reservation requests;
+ Processes routine transactions; monitors for accuracy and completeness;
+ Maintains files and records;
+ Processes incoming/outgoing mail, as assigned;
+ Entering and retrieving data from the City's information systems;
+ Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
+ High School Diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSet, TASC).
+ One (1) year of experience in clerical/administrative support.
+ Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
Additional Preferred Skills
+ Experience with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
+ Recreation software experience.
+ Ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines.
+ Willing to work up to 32 hours per week as needed Monday - Friday and will work occasional weekends.
+ MS Office Word experience.
+ Perform daily record keeping or proofreading.
+ Keep up with a schedule of tasks and deadlines by managing your own time wisely
+ Complete shift paperwork and other opening/closing duties.
+ Use computer systems to process registrations, manage records, or create work orders.
+ Use point of sale systems (using cash register or credit card machines) to receive payments.
+ Provide support to internal and external customers.
