Position SummaryResponsible for managing the day-to-day sponsored program administration activities within the department.
Job Responsibilities Oversees and manages operational aspects of sponsored project administration. Serves as the primary contact and resource to faculty, investigators and staff for pre- and post-award activities. Oversees and coordinates post-award activities. Provides ongoing oversight of research funding. Reviews notice of award and budget to assure funds are spent within compliance of the awarding agency and Weill Cornell. Oversees and coordinates pre-award activities. Ensures timely submission of federal, foundation, and industry-sponsored grant applications and contracts pursuant to internal policies and sponsor requirements. Responsible for the preparation and monitoring of annual budget(s) as well as other research program operating budgets within the department. Ensures performance and financial benchmarks are met. Oversees preparation and approval of financial reporting of sponsored program and other research-related accounts. Reviews reports with faculty and administration. Oversees effort reporting processes to ensure compliance and that effort is updated and properly maintained in the Effort Tracking System (ETS). Makes policy recommendations for research procedures. Education Bachelor's Degree in related field ExperienceApproximately 5 years of related administrative experience in a research environment, preferably in an academic medical school setting.
Approximately 4+ years experience in pre- and post-award grants & contracts management, which must include direct management of NIH awards.
Prior supervisory experience.
