The Administrator is responsible for directing, supervising and coordinating all functions and activities of the Nursing Home. This position will implement the policies of the Board of Directors by serving as the decision making authority for the Nursing Home on all operational matters. Additionally, this position will make recommendations and develop policies and procedures for various activities of the Home.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Organizes the operational functions of the Home through appropriate departments and delegation of duties.
· Evaluates operating results attained on a regular basis relative to established objectives and reports to the Senior Vice President and Board of Directors to ensure appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
· Initiates changes in administrative policies to carry out the mission of the Home more effectively as directed by the Board of Directors.
· Interprets organizational, facility and departmental policies, objectives and operational procedures for all department heads.
· Prepares budgets and allocates funds based on the evaluation of costs, departmental budget estimates, revenue, and reimbursement.
· Identifies deficiencies cited by regulatory agencies and the Home's Quality Improvement Program to initiate corrective actions.
· Complies with regulations and codes for all accrediting agencies at the Home.
· Creates innovative responses to problem solving involving customer concerns and is decisive in matters requiring prompt attention.
· Assists subordinates in the identification of development goals/needs and regularly monitors their performance.
· Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
· Complies with policies and procedures concerning infection control and safety.
· Maintains and develops competence through required in-service and continuing educational programs.
· Attends meetings of professional, civic and service organizations as a representative of the Home.
· Participates in the strategic planning and development of services sponsored by the Westchester Health Network.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in a progressively responsible administrative position.
Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis on management and health care
Licenses / Certifications: State of New York Nursing Home Administrator License.
Other: If applicable, the individual performing this job may reasonably anticipate coming into contact with human blood and other potentially infectious materials. Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local codes that govern Nursing Home operations.
Ability to demonstrate leadership and administrative competence in a Nursing Home setting
