Summary
Responsible for gathering hands-on experience and necessary tools in a long-term care setting allowing you to learn the necessary competencies to successfully obtain licensure and begin a leadership journey as a licensed administrator for the Good Samaritan Society.Job Description
Works under the guidance and supervision of a preceptor to develop skills and obtain knowledge in managing resident services. Learns how to work on complex administrative matters where analysis of issues, data and process require advanced specialist knowledge and in-depth industry knowledge. Completes 1000 hours of hands-on training in all departments of Long-term care including, but not limited to: Administration, Human Resources, Nursing, Business Office/ Financial Management, Dietary, Rehabilitation, Medical Records, Activities, Social Services/ Admissions, Housekeeping/ Laundry and Environmental Management/ Maintenance. Coordinates self-study, on the job training along with live and virtual instruction to assure successful completion of the program. Observes and participates in activities associated with administration or resident care as directed by the preceptor. Responsible for attending required workshops, meetings, and training sessions.
Guides others by creating and maintaining a culture of trust and engagement. Meets the needs of the location by being adaptable to feedback and ongoing change. Leads self by taking initiative, displaying a strong work ethic and dedication to personal development.
Depending on location, may be assigned to act in a temporary leadership role.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in health care administration.Work experience in a long term care setting desired.
Upon successful completion of training, must be able to meet eligibility for a Nursing Home Administrator’s license or certification issued by the state.
