**Description** . **THE ROLE** The Administrator of Providence Mother Joseph Care Center (MJCC), in collaboration with the Chief, Residential Services, and other HCC Leaders, is responsible for developing and implementing both financial and clinical strategies consistent with the strategic goals, mission and values of the Health System to achieve success for Providence Mother Joseph Care Center. It is expected that the focus of the position will be on execution of operating systems that respond to changes in reimbursement while preserving the financial viability of the ministry. MJCC includes Transitional Care Unit and Long Term Care beds licensed as a Skilled Nursing Facility. The Administrator is responsible for leadership and oversight of caregiver retention and engagement strategies and a positive culture as evidence by retention rates and caregiver engagement survey results. The Administrator is responsible for promoting staff relations through a culture of team-building and employee training and development; contributing to the continued financial viability of the facility and it's programs; and assuming an advocacy role in public and community relations activities related to care for the elderly. The function of the position actively incorporates the Mission and Vision of Providence Health Systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Serve as a member of the HCC SNF/AL Leadership Council, working cooperatively with team members on the development and implementation of the evolution of the SNF/AL service line delivery system across multiple states. + Provide for effective management of financial information to drive results to achieve budget and performance targets/goals. + Provide leadership to the organization to maximize quality, cost effectiveness and responsiveness as evidenced by CMS star performance and survey results. + Provide visionary and motivational leadership to achieve high caregiver engagement and positive relationships. + Provide leadership through daily huddles and other methods to manage productively and hours to per patient day (HPPD) at or better than budget. Sets expectations and holds team accountable to execute actions to perform to budget and/or target. + Operate the organization to ensure its financial strength, reviewing results on an on-going basis and taking corrective action to achieve the annual budgets of the various programs and services. + Provide leadership and work collaboratively with managers and staff to evaluate new opportunities and to develop programs and services that improve the organizations' market positions and meet community needs. + Select and develop managers and department leaders who will meet the organizations' goals and objectives. + Lead quality improvement activities that promote employee, physician and patient involvement in decision-making on work organization and patient care delivery. + Implement standards of service for care, oversee system for monitoring quality, intervening as appropriate to take corrective action and ensure accreditation and regulatory guidelines are met. + Serve as a member of the HCC SNF/AL Leadership Council working collaboratively with other Administrators, the SNF/AL Regional team; Finance and other shared services to achieve the service line goals and targets. + Represents Providence at local community events. + Provides leadership oversight to the Director of Nursing and Director of Rehab to Assure effective direction of all nursing, rehabilitation and therapy services and appropriate training and development of clinical staff. + Provides leadership oversight for social services, therapeutic recreation programs, dietary/food services and environmental services for the ministry. + Direct ministry to the spiritual needs of clients, their families and staff members and ensure that the values of the Sisters of Providence are present throughout the Center. + Works collaboratively with the Medical Director and contracted provider group on the delivery of medical services in the ministry in accordance with all regulatory, quality assurance activities and programs. + Exercise sensitivity to community needs, including the needs of the elderly and the poor, consistent with the mission of the Sisters of Providence. + Provide strategic planning and marketing direction; promote PMW through community involvement and representation of the facility's interest to legislative and regulatory agencies. + Develop and maintain a strong role with the clinical staff in order to provide state-of-the-art health care service. + Keep abreast of trends and developments in health care in order to provide effective management of the resources of the facility/agency. + Facilitates core leader meetings as a routine part of the management structure. Leads all staff meetings and other forums to communicate directly with caregivers. + Ensure proper handling and disposal of confidential documents and adherence to all HIPAA rules and regulations. + Assure adherence to all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements with regard to infection control, universal precautions, sanitation, and safety and disaster preparedness. **QUALIFICATIONS** + Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or Management or a Health Related field + Master's Degree (preferred) + Upon hire: Licensed as a long term care administrator for the State of Washington + 7 years of progressive leadership experience in health care preferably with a long term care facility that includes: + Healthcare services development, delivery, and operations. + Experience in developing and manage budgets, monitoring expenses and determining resource allocations. + Supervision of staff. + Dealing with the public agencies. + Experience with Medicare/Medicaid + Ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing + Ability to follow appropriate communications channels + Demonstrates competency by maintaining positive, collaborative, and constructive interpersonal relationships + Understands and practices the principles of effective teamwork + Demonstrates ability to prioritize work assignments and meet productivity and quality standards + Adapts easily to changes in work assignments and environment, is willing to assume additional responsibility and learn new procedures + Effective organizational skills + Ability to use standard office equipment including personal computers, telephones, copiers and fax machines + Proficiency with MS Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook preferred. **About Providence** At Providence, our strength lies in Our Promise of “Know me, care for me, ease my way.” Working at our family of organizations means that regardless of your role, we’ll walk alongside you in your career, supporting you so you can support others.
