Admissions Coordinator
**Req Number** 141632 Job Description Coordinates the flow of patients being admitted to the facility. Performs diversified coordinative and clerical duties supporting the functional and/or operational needs of the department Job Responsibility + Coordinates the flow of patients being admitted to the facility; assesses and intervenes when delays are identified related to admission paperwork, bed turnover and patient transport. + Greets patients and/or visitors to the department in a courteous manner. + Interviews residents/significant others to obtain all relevant demographic and insurance data; obtains necessary signatures on required forms; enters all pre-admission and admission information into department computer system. + Provides interpretation of regulations to residents (i.e., visiting hours, resident services, Bill of Rights, etc.). + Ensures completed charts accompany patients upon admission. + Serves as a liaison between admitting, nursing stations, patient transport, and medical records to facilitate optimal patient flow. + Responds to patient/family complaints as they relate to the admissions and discharge processes. + Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes. + Participates in developing and delivering training related to operations. + Performs related duties as required.
