Admissions Counselor - PRN

The Admissions Counselor is a clinical professional responsible for delivering excellent customer service through facilitating admissions, delivering individualized clinical intake assessments/utilization reviews to assure continuity for the most appropriate level of care for patients. The Admissions Counselor will serve as a valued source of both medical care and compassionate support. At Glenwood Behavioral Health the Admissions Counselor is a challenging, dynamic and rewarding position that allows for RN’s/LSW’s/LPC’s to enhance your skillset, develop new capabilities, and become a recognized leader in delivering exceptional patient care and directly impacting/improving the lives of individuals and families in crisis. Role is PRN - per diem/as needed.

Functions include, but not limited to: 

Facilitate admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients. Provide accurate and ongoing individualized assessments of patient's status throughout admissions process. Respond in a timely manner to inquiries about the facility within facility policy. Collaborate on a daily basis with other facility medical and psychiatric personnel to ensure appropriate recommendations and admissions, while coordinating admission and transfer between levels of care within the facility. Provide accurate education to patient and their families throughout patient stay, including healthcare and social resource systems to empower patient/their families to access resources independently.

Educational/Licensure/Experience Requirements:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Valid and active license as required for the area of clinical specialty, i.e., current RN license, CAC or other clinical counseling or therapy license, as designated by the state of Ohio.  Three (3) plus years of mental/behavioral health experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the adult/geriatric population. Experience in the managed care pre-certification process, level of care assessments and utilization.  CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification training required.
