The admissions counselor willbe responsible for successfully recruiting and enrolling students to Salem State University. To achieve these goals, the candidate will review applications for undergraduate admission, conduct recruitment travel, as well as advise and counsel prospective students, guidance counselors, and other constituencies regarding the admission process and academic programs. The candidate will be responsible for meeting individual and team enrollment goals.

Required Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor's degree with 2 years of direct admissions experienceOne year of experience in higher education, or a closely related fieldExperience working both independently and as part of a team, in order to meet project and task deadlinesMust have access to reliable transportation; must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and have appropriate auto insurance coverage throughout tenure as an admission counselor

Preferred Qualifications:

Three years of experience in an admissions officeFluency in Spanish or another languageExcellent public speaking, interpersonal and written communication skillsPossess excellent technical skills withInternet applications, social media and Microsoft Office suiteStrong critical decision-making abilityand time management skillsKnowledgeable of Salem State University's programsKnowledge of/experience with admissions processes in U.S. higher education; understanding of Salem State admissions practices a plusExperience with a CRM (TargetX/Salesforce) and/or PeopleSoft Student Information SystemExperience in the development of school counselor and community college counselor relationshipsExperience developing trainings or presentations for diverse populations

Working Conditions:

This is a hybrid position with some on-campus, in-person responsibilities. Some travel is required.
