Responsible for the efficient and orderly registration of inpatients and outpatients in the Emergency Department.  Ensures that accurate patient information is collected in a prompt and courteous manner.

Required Qualifications: 

Coursework/Training: Knowledge of medical terminology obtained college coursework or equivalent educ/experience 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare registration. Healthcare experience, in either a provider or payor site.

Preferred Qualifications:

Coursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of college level Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant course. National Certification of CHAA upon hire. Registrar and third party payor experience. Experience with State, Federal and other regulatory Compliance Regulations, including:  Medicare Secondary Payor, EMTALA, and ABN.
