The Modeling Specialist position aides those supporting the real-time ADMS system model development and maintenance using the model management tool. The specialist will participate in the coordination of the daily and weekly ADMS model build process to ensure a coherent system model providing accurate modeling of real-time power system conditions. This role requires understanding the ESRI topology model, future ESRI UN model, Common Information Model (CIM) model and GE proprietary CIM2DNOM conversion process. Other responsibilities include automation support for reliability reporting, fire weather dashboard support, system database expansion for support of new and existing members, interfacing with Operations staff to incorporate requested application, display, and model changes.
Responsibilities
Develops and maintains accurate and complete documentation. Updates documentation in a timely manner. Provides effective and timely user support. Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves system problems for distribution operations 24/7. Works to continually improve processes and efficiencies and to ensure system reliability. Define and maintain electric distribution models in the ADMS. Evaluate and maintain model data accuracy in the ADMS. Review and process ADMS model changes. Create and update accurate single line diagrams within the ADMS. Support the specification, testing, and development of the ADMS system to ensure that it meets changing functional requirement. Create and run scripts for comparison of distribution model versions in MMA. Creation and maintenance of departmental process and procedure documentation in support of the model build process and support of ADMS. Creation and maintenance of departmental process and procedure documentation to ensure Distribution Operations always has a valid daily model build. Other duties as assigned.Requirements
Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience in planning, analysis, design, implementation, training, and support of data networks and computing systems required. Or a Master's Degree with 6 years of experience required. Excellent customer support skills are required, including: demonstrated experience providing technology support, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. Experience communicating with non-technical end users to convey detailed technical information and to ascertain the technical details of problems which they are experiencing. Experience performing effectively under stressful and time critical conditions. Experience supporting critical business and operations systems is desirable. Effective and flexible verbal and written communication skills.Other combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
