Educational Responsibilities:
Participate in teaching of house officers and medical students working in adolescent medicine.Clinical Responsibilities:
Practice adolescent medicine, providing care to adolescents and young adults. This shall include, but not be limited to, the provision of general health care maintenance, gynecological care and family planning services as well as the evaluation and treatment of eating disorders, sexually transmitted infections, substance abuse, school issues and other behavioral health disorders. Provide clinical care as a key member of the Pediatric Eating Disorders Program working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Provide direct patient care services at Morristown and Overlook Medical Centers as well as at any satellite practice locations as required. Participate in the on-call rotation system with the other adolescent medicine physicians. Participate in clinical coverage of other sites such as juvenile detention center, youth shelter, college health on a temporary basis when other adolescent medicine physicians are unavailable. Provide timely communication to primary care/referring physicians.Administrative Responsibilities:
Comply with billing, coding and documentation. Market the practice through direct physician to physician communication, community education, community service or other appropriate channels. Participate in fundraising and awareness campaigns organized by the Foundations at MMC and OMC. Maintain and implement standards for health promotion and health maintenance. Provide open and timely communication with patients, families and guardians. Ensure that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times. Accept and care for indigent and clinic patients in a manner consistent with compassionate and ethical patient care. Accept all managed care plans accepted by Atlantic Health hospitals. Demonstrate knowledge of current coding guidelines and requirements and maintain an error rate within Atlantic Health guidelines (currently 5% or less). Complete required reporting (including Medicare Cost reporting) in a timely manner. If conducting hospital rounds, ensure accurate and timely billing for hospital services. Submit all bills for outpatient and inpatient work in a timely manner to the AMG billing department. Use and endorse the use of all of AMG’s and the Hospital’s automated systems, as appropriate, including the Epic electronic medical record. Participate in lectures at pediatric grand rounds, community education and scientific programs as may be delegated or assigned to the Physician by the Chair of Pediatrics or AMG leadership.
