AdOps Specialist, StoryStudio

AdOps Specialist, StoryStudio

Meet the StoryStudio: The Hearst StoryStudio is responsible for ideation and development of custom content programs across the Hearst Newspaper and Broadcast Divisions. Since our inception in January 2015, we have created over 4,500 stories for our brand partners ranging from travel, non-profits and real estate to finance, retail, healthcare, and much more. Simply put, we write stories for our brand partners.

The AdOps Specialist will report to the Director of Advertising Operations of the Hearst StoryStudio and will assist the AdOps Director in the implementation of StoryStudio campaigns from start to finish—monitoring and optimizing multiple campaigns at a time, and ensuring campaigns launch and deliver on schedule and according to client expectations.

Responsibilities:

You will traffic native advertising campaigns in our ad server, social and our content management systems across the portfolio of Hearst regional properties. You will partner with the Creative Strategy team to ensure handoffs run smoothly and mistakes during campaign set-up are avoided. You will implement all campaigns ensuring execution according to sold program. You will perform pre-launch prep work, including performing quality assurance on ad tags and creatives. You will enter each campaign in our report aggregation tool aligning each tracked element to the correct data source.  You will proactively monitor all campaigns for both delivery and performance, recommend appropriate campaign optimizations when applicable, and identify issues that prevent campaigns from hitting KPIs and performance benchmarks, and propose solutions. You will prioritize and manage multiple campaigns simultaneously while meeting deadlines. You will never have a boring day.

Here is what we are looking for:

Must possess 3+ years of experience in a related digital media position.  Experience with branded content is preferred, but not required. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously. Knowledge of ad serving systems to serve as support for campaigns. Includes understanding of inventory structures and supporting 3rd party syndication partners. Superior client service/communication skills. Ability to learn fast. The ability to prioritize tasks. An understanding of traffic and performance.  Proficiency in Excel required and experience in reporting/query tools and analysis. Knowledge in HTML, JavaScript, and Photoshop is beneficial.

Some of the other, less tactical stuff we’re looking for:

Hungry to perform with persistence to deliver project management and organizational multi-tasking. Utilizes data in making decisions: analytical skills on multiple data points and precise attention to detail. Always solving problems: strong aptitude for finding solutions, as well as forecasting and anticipating outcomes. Excellent communication skills with ability to understand needs and translate into action.
