This position acts as the head housekeeper and is responsible for cleaning and maintaining five housekeeping cabins and a group lodging area with five cabins, dining hall, and bathhouse. Duties include supervising extra-help and community service workers, cleaning cabins, pavilions, bathhouses, and restrooms, inventorying and monitoring the condition of cabin contents, picking up trash, laundering cabin linens, and purchasing new items as needed. Off-season tasks include pressure washing, painting, and light facility maintenance. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, be able to lift 50 pounds and be able to work a varied schedule, including weekends and some holidays. A criminal background check and a driving record check will be performed.
This position offers a full benefit package including paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement pension.
Applicants must meet or exceed the following qualifications: the formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of experience in domestic, institutional, or hotel/motel housekeeping or related field, including six months in a leadership capacity. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements.

Summary
The Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism (ADPT) Housekeeper Supervisor is responsible for the overall appearance and sanitation of public use areas in the park. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Functions
Provides daily supervision for skilled and unskilled employees by assigning and reviewing work. Completes a variety of cleaning tasks as needed. Inspects park facilities to determine maintenance needs, sanitary conditions, and overall appearance. Checks housekeeping work performed by staff and examines for missing items or maintenance needs. Conducts inventory of equipment, linens, supplies and materials to maintain current demands and determine future needs. Researches and recommends specifications for custodial supplies, linens, and cleaning equipment. Completes and maintains records on inventory, work schedules, lost and found, and maintenance issues. Prepares reports for superiors as needed. Participates in interviews, maintains performance files, and completes performance evaluations. Greets visitors, provides assistance to the public and other staff. Assists customers with special needs. Collaborates with all park operational units to ensure prompt service delivery for park guests. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of park amenities, facilities. and materials. Knowledge of basic principles of facility maintenance. Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques. Knowledge of cleaning equipment operation and maintenance. Knowledge of supervisory policies and techniques. Ability to train employees in job tasks related facility management. Ability to follow instructions and to prepare and present brief verbal or written reports. Ability to inspect facilities and determine maintenance needs. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others. Ability to use housekeeping cleaning supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
