Advanced Accounting Specialist

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, provides support for month-end closing requirements including fixed assets, journal entries, banking, financial reporting and closing requirements. Acts as a liaison between multiple departments to resolve issues or answer inquiries.

Responsibilities

Performs advanced accounting functions including monthly account reconciliations, monitoring certain monthly accruals and preparing journal entries in order to ensure proper reporting financials. Monitors balance sheet for potential future profits and loss impact. Performs complex analysis such as gross profit, warranty, pricing accruals and other ad-hoc analysis. Ensures internal controls are operating correctly with the goal of zero deficiencies through JSOX auditing. Performs financial analysis and assists in financial reporting activities in order to ensure proper recording of transactions and accurate monthly financial statements. Investigates and analyzes accounting and financial related data in order to reconcile and audit information. Performs more complex intercompany account reconciliation. Assists with process improvement activities including maintaining and implementing internal controls. Acts as a liaison between internal departments and other DENSO locations in order to resolve outstanding issues. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required. 5-8 years of relevant work experience is required. Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS is required along with an understanding of current accounting operational structure (financial close, gross profit, JSOX, etc.). Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing duties. Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible. Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues. Advanced understanding of accounting principles. Cross functional team member. Advanced process improvement (kaizen) mindset. Advanced understand of system knowledge. Ability to take ownership of D-café. Ability to take ownership of financial statements.

Salary $75,000-$90,000.
