The Advanced tech assists the Registered Nurse in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for those patients for whom they are responsible. Responsibilities Under direction of the RN provides direct patient care utilizing patient plan of care. Clinical skills: The care may include, but is not limited to, the following: obtaining and recording in the EHR, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and pulse oximetry, drawing blood, EKG, transporting patients, obtain urine and stool specimens, perform point of care testing, assist with ED procedures, measure and assist in applying sling, cervical collar, splints and crutches, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, transferring, feeding, observing, and reporting the general well-being of the person(s) to whom they are providing care. Critical Thinking Skills. Documentation of patient reassessments accurately and correctly within specific time. Reassess patient safety facts and identifies those patients requiring special safety devices. Reports test results as required to RN, notifies MD in timely manner of abnormal results. Critical values are reported immediately. Reassess educational needs of pt/significant other and provides appropriate written and verbal instruction. Documents on teaching form and modifies as needed. Transcription of orders. Other duties per licensure. Qualifications Minimum one year Emergency Department or Critical Care Competencies Skills Clear Communication Skills Both Written And Verbal Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members Able To Withstand Crisis Situations Has Skills To Provides Customer Service To Patients, Team Members And Visitors Knowledge And Experience With Electronic Health Records Credentials BLS – Basic Life Saving Certification PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred) Education LPN or NREMT-P (Nationally Registered Paramedic) Entry USD $24.62/Hr. Expert USD $38.16/Hr.
