The Advanced tech assists the Registered Nurse in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for those patients for whom they are responsible. Responsibilities Under direction of the RN provides direct patient care utilizing patient plan of care. Clinical skills: The care may include, but is not limited to, the following: obtaining and recording in the EHR, blood pressure, pulse, temperature and pulse oximetry, drawing blood, EKG, transporting patients, obtain urine and stool specimens, perform point of care testing, assist with ED procedures, measure and assist in applying sling, cervical collar, splints and crutches, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulating, transferring, feeding, observing, and reporting the general well-being of the person(s) to whom they are providing care. Reassess patient safety facts and identifies those patients requiring special safety devices. Reports test results as required to RN, notifies MD in timely manner of abnormal results.
