Engineering Technician IV
GDIT has an opportunity for a Field Service Technician supporting Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS) in Fort Cavazos, Texas. This position requires someone with a current and active Secret clearance.
How the AFATDS Field Service Technician will make an impact:
Primarily supports software family of systems: Fires - includes field artillery digital coordinating systems. Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Pocket-Sized Forward Entry Device (PFED), CENTAUR Light Weight Technical Fire Direction System, and similar handheld device) and Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS). Specializes in supporting Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS).
Provides software install, configuration, patching, and routine system maintenance.Travels to various sites to perform software updates and troubleshooting along with fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components. Prepares weekly/bi-weekly reports for customer. Provides over the shoulder training for operators.Initialize, install and troubleshoot software interfaces of Fires, which includes field artillery digital coordinating systems such as AFATDS. Performs analyses of system operations. Routine system maintenance and analysis functions includes: hardware configurations, adding, removing and replacing hardware components; use of hardware and software diagnostic testing tools; reading of electronic circuit schematics; and repairing printed circuit boards.What you’ll need to succeed:
AA/AS (or equivalent experience), 3+ years of experienceMust have experience with Windows 10 Administration, basic networking, Windows Server 2012 Administration, and VMware VSphere Ver 6.5 - Installation, Configuration, & Maintenance. Must have knowledge of and experience in the operations of hardware systems and components. Must have experience in fault detection, isolation, and correction of hardware systems and individual components. Military experience is desirable.Clearance: Must have a current and active Secret clearance.
Certifications: CompTia Security + CE required.
