An Advanced Mechanical Engineer job is available with our client in Middletown, RI. As a mechanical engineer you"ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing various types of tactical equipment used onboard Navy submarines. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Due to the nature of the work performed in this facility, US citizenship is required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing various types of tactical equipment used onboard Navy submarines.
* Design of electro-mechanical systems used in the defense industry;
* Utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards;
* Perform structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Requires a Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field with 5+ years of job-related experience OR
* Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.
* Strong proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings
* Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards
* Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects
* Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals
* Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience with design of electro-mechanical systems used in the defense industry;
* Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards;
* Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
