The Rowan-Virtua SOM New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging, Department of Geriatrics and Gerontology at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey is seeking a full-time clinical faculty member to join our pioneering and expanding team. This is a non-tenured position.
The Rowan-Virtua SOM New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging (NJISA) has a distinguished history dating back to its origins in the 1980’s. It is a designated Center of Excellence with a tripartite mission of clinical service, education and research. It is a multidisciplinary Center, providing team based care to older individuals.
The Department consists of a diversified faculty and staff including geriatricians, geriatric psychiatrists, neurologists, neuropsychologists, behavioral researchers, neuroscientist researchers, nurse practitioners, social workers and health educators. It offers primary care services across the continuum of care, including ambulatory care, home and assisted living care, and acute, subacute and long-term care. Specialty programs include the Memory Assessment Program, Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, and House Calls. NJISA physicians provide direct patient care and serve as Medical Directors at multiple long-term and subacute care facilities.
NJISA’s research focuses on behavioral research, basic science/translational research, and research in primary care. NJISA is home to a Biomarker Discovery Center and is engaged in significant research on Alzheimer’s disease and digital neuropsychological screening. Funding is provided by the National Institutes of Health and private foundations. NJISA also either participates in or leads multi-institutional research projects.
NJISA provides an array of educational offerings to families, caregivers, and health professionals. As a Department in the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine, NJISA is also committed to training the physicians of tomorrow. NJISA’s educational programs extend to other health professionals including nursing, pharmacy, public health, social work, and biomedical sciences. Our goal is to create a healthcare workforce that is prepared to meet the needs of the growing generation of older individuals.
As a clinical faculty member in our Department, you will provide primary care/geriatric clinical services in the ambulatory, acute, home, assisted living, long-term care, and subacute settings, and participate in the on call schedule. Additionally, you will participate in the training and education of medical students and residents and students in other health professions. You will participate in faculty development and such other duties as assigned by the Department Chair to support the mission of the Department of Geriatrics and Gerontology, Rowan-Virtua SOM New Jersey Institute for Successful Aging.
The selected candidate must hold the following:
Valid NJ Nursing License An advanced nursing degree with a concentration in adult and/or geriatric medicine CDS license DEA licenseSalary is competitive and is accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package.
