This position provides advanced care in the outpatient setting. The APN/PA will be expected to assume the management of patients for Orthopedic Patients at the Tinley Park location functioning in both an independent and collaborative role with the physician, case manager, and other members of the health care team. As an expert practitioner, the APN/PA performs selected invasive procedures, designs individualized treatment plans, evaluates outcomes, and modifies the treatment plan as needed. The APN/PA facilitates the transition of patients between service units and provides/coordinates complex patient and family teaching.

Minimum Education:

·         Required:  Master's Degree

·         Specify Degree(s):  Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse

Minimum Experience:

·         Required:  3-5 years of previous job-related experience

·         Preferred:  6-10 years of previous job-related experience

 

Licensure/Certifications:

·         Required:

o   CPR – Basic Life Support

o   Nursing – Current Registered Nurse License - State of Illinois

o   Nursing – Nursing Practitioner License – State of Illinois

- Physician Assistant License

·         Other:  Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing granted by a national nursing organization is preferred

 

Computer Skills:

·         Required:  Basic Keyboarding Skills

·         Preferred:  EPIC

·         Other:  Ability to become proficient in EPIC with on-the-job training
