Salary: 127,900.50-191,860.50 USD Facility: Sisters of Charity Hospital Shift: Shift 1 Status: Full Time FTE: 1.000000 Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: Yes Work Schedule: Days Hours: Variable hours Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider Manager, Surgery & ICU is responsible for the oversight of the First Assistant Operational Activity and Clinical performance, as well as Intensive Care Operational Activity and Clinical performance. This role works in collaboration with Surgeons and Intensivists across both campuses to provide adequate coverage and support as required. The role is responsible for the daily operational and clinical activity of the first assistant and ICU APP teams. This position is also responsible for the coordination of Physician Assistant Surgical student surgical clinical activity. The Manager performs clinical duties working across all surgical specialties. This role can be filled by a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, as outlined below. The Physician Assistant is an independent health care provider who, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients. All duties and responsibilities must be accomplished with the guidelines of the established protocols and in accordance with the Physician Written Practice Agreement as required by New York State. The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively as a licensed and credentialed independent practitioner with other members of the healthcare team to provide comprehensive health assessment, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with acute and sub-acute illnesses consistent with privileges granted. Scope of practice and delineation of Nurse Practitioner, defined by NYS Department of Education, within the NP role, and are credentialed and approved by the Chairman, Department of Surgery, Chairmen of Credentials Committee, and Medical Executive Committee. Responsibilities: EDUCATION + Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in New York State + If a Physician Assistant, graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree as a Physician Assistant + If a Nurse Practitioner: + Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree as a Nurse Practitioner approved program with certification + Graduate of an accredited school of Professional nursing required + NYS Licensed Registered Nurse + Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by NYS + Infection Control Training certificate as required by New York State + Board Certification by NCCPA required + Meets credentialing requirements as appropriate through the Medical Staff office EXPERIENCE + Three-year surgical assisting experience required KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY + Ability to handle multiple priorities in a stressful situation + Strong verbal and written communication skills WORKING CONDITIONS: + Respond to surgical on-call emergencies REQNUMBER: 34600
