Advanced Practice Provider Neuroscience Fellow
The Advanced Practice Provider Fellow (APP Fellow) is responsible for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with an attending physician, with oversight and guidance by a primary preceptor. As an APP Fellow, the clinician will be expected to rotate through specialty services as part of advanced post-graduate medical education. As a trainee, the APP Fellow will receive preceptor guidance and teaching delivered by a senior advanced practice provider, senior resident, fellow, or attending physician, dependent upon the clinical rotation. The APP Fellow is expected to manage direct patient care as a dominant aspect of the role. The APP Fellow is responsible for coordination of patient care, participation in collaborative medical care with multidisciplinary teams. The APP Fellow is expected to participate in protected, non-clinical didactic education in the form of lectures, simulation, skills labs, case studies, presentations, and other components of the training curriculum as determined by the program faculty and director. The APP Fellow is also responsible for completion of an evidence-based practice or quality-improvement project during their tenure as a fellow.

Clinical:

Position Compensation Range: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master’s Degree as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)

Experience: Less than 1 year of experience in desired specialty.

Licensure: Varies by specialty - see below.

Neurosciences: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner) as set forth by the state of Virginia. 

Critical Care: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner) as set forth by the state of Virginia. 

Primary Care: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Physician Assistant or Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult Primary Care Registered Nurse Practitioner) as set forth by the state of Virginia.

Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of the UVA Medical Center, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and the appropriate certifying bodies. Must be enrolled with all payers through Delegated Credentialing and can participate in Medicaid and Medicare for billing.  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association required. For Critical Care only, current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling/bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
