Loyola University Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to provide advanced care in an outpatient setting with a focus on acute care. This role involves managing the care of OBGYN patients at both Loyola and MacNeal locations, functioning independently and collaboratively with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare team members.
The APN/PA will serve as an expert practitioner, performing specialized invasive procedures, developing personalized treatment plans, evaluating patient outcomes, and making necessary adjustments to treatment. This position also ensures smooth care transitions for patients across service units and plays a key role in delivering complex patient and family education.
Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Management: Oversee and manage the care of OBGYN patients in outpatient settings, ensuring timely and efficient care delivery.Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.Clinical Procedures: Perform specialized invasive procedures in accordance with the scope of practice and certification.Treatment Planning: Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient outcomes and evolving care needs.Care Coordination: Facilitate patient transitions between service units, ensuring continuity of care.Patient & Family Education: Provide complex education to patients and their families, equipping them with the knowledge and resources needed for ongoing care.Position Requirements:
Minimum Education:
· Required: Master's Degree
· Specify Degree(s): Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse
Must have an Acute Care Degree and Acute Care Certification
Minimum Experience:
· Required: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience
· Preferred: 6-10 years of previous job-related experience
Licensure/Certifications:
· Required:
o CPR – Basic Life Support
o Nursing – Current Registered Nurse License - State of Illinois
o Nursing – Nursing Practitioner License – State of Illinois
