Job Summary:

Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations as part of a Physician/Physician Assistant team. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.

Key Position Details:

*Flexible on FTE (Can be 1.0 FTE or less)*. Seeking advanced practice provider to work in an urgent care setting, providing direct patient care to individuals, via in-person and virtual encounters. Focus is on the diagnosis and management of acute or urgent musculoskeletal/orthopedic issues, with secondary specialization in illness/injury prevention, conservative rehabilitation and counseling on the appropriateness of non-surgical vs surgical intervention. NP or PA would function as part of an integrated care team to manage care and disposition of patient needs. Opportunity to help develop and grow a novel model for delivery of orthopedic care.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

Provides clinical care for patientsCompletes comprehensive patient assessments.Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.Refers for specialty care when determined.Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.Participates in health care teamPromotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.Acts as a resource to members of the team.Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients.Works with primary care team for program development.Participates in research activities when opportunities are available.Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required and0 to 2 years experience post Physician Assistant training preferredLicensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hireBLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 180 DaysCertification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire requiredDrug Enforcement Administration upon hire required

Pay Range

Pay Range: $126,000 to $140,000 per year

The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
