Responsibilities

Ascension Medical Group Beacon Orthopedics is looking for an experienced PA or NP Orthopedic Surgery.

 

Position Highlights: 

The new provider will support a busy Orthopedic practice with surgeons who are fellowship trained in total joint reconstruction and upper extremity. Opportunity is for a patient focused, team oriented individual that will commit to providing quality patient care, developing relationships and practice growth.

 

Responsibilities:

Typical work schedule involves two to three days per week seeing patients independently in the orthopedic surgery clinic, two to three days per week supporting orthopedic surgeon as 1st Assist in the OR. Provider handles patient calls, pre-op and post-op activities, charting details, etc. On a rare occasion, the PA may be asked to help with seeing patients at the Warren office location.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Physician Assistant:

BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA. Verified by local Credentialing Office.Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Nurse Practitioner:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

 

Education:

Physician Assistant:

Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.Master's degree preferred.

Nurse Practitioner:

• Master's degree of Nursing required.

 

 

Work Experience:

1 year of experience preferred.
Additional Preferences Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.Certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner with OR credentials. 1-2 years of recent and relevant experience as a PA or NP Orthopedic Surgery (outpatient visits and 1st Assist OR) is required.Ability to do independent physical exams, interpret MRI and x-rays, and conduct minor procedures in the office and OR is required.
