Overview Job Specifics: Seeking a compassionate and dynamic Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with First Assist or Physician Assistant to fulfill the Advanced Practice Provider Pediatric Surgery opportunity at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois located in Peoria, Illinois Collaboration with a team of 4 Pediatric General Surgeons, two established APN’s and staff on the inpatient unit Will support the Pediatric Surgery patients on the inpatient units and operating room (if training allows) and rotate to outpatient Pediatric Surgery Clinic No evening call Will work 1:4 Weekends Responsibilities include: expediting discharges, arranging for equipment needs and outpatient services, arranging for home health and home infusion services, preparing inpatients for next day surgery, providing education to families and staff in real time, re-assessing post-op surgical patients, re-assessing wounds and burns and providing wound care and collaborating with other specialties. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and State of Illinois for prescribing of narcotics.
