The University of Miami-UHealth System has an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN). The APRN is to work within their scope of practice under ANCC or AANP Board Certifications as a Family Nurse Practitioner. The ARNP will have a collaborating agreement and protocols with collaborating physician(s). The ARNP is responsible for assessing physical and psychosocial status of clients by means of interview, health history, physical examination, diagnostic studies, and medical management. Assist physicians in performing medical procedures, up to and including blood drawing, vital signs and nursing assessments, history and physicals. Administrative APRN manager will provide relevant clinical services as well as administrative oversight and clinical supervision to ensure the effective implementation and coordination of patient services. Improve health outcomes through care coordination, efficiency and patient safety. Follow Collaborating Physician protocols for treatment of patients. Coordinate scheduling and referral processes within UM. Administrative duties to be conducted by the nurse manager are as follows but not limited. Assist with and maintain clinic budget. Reconciles expense receipts with budget report to ensure accuracy. Assist with marketing activities as needed; example: leaving campus to participate in flu shot fairs, etc. Provide disciplinary action as needed on individual case basis. Assist with hiring new RN, LPN, and MA staff members
Provides insight on unit operations to leadership to assist in the development of strategic planning and departmental expansion. Supports and enforces infection-control policies and procedures. Cooperates and maintains good rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, other departments, and visitors. Performs all other job related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
+ Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification ANCC or AANP
+ 1 Years Clinical experience as an APRN
+ Current License in the State of Florida
+ Maintain current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association
+ ACLS and PALS as appropriate to clinical area
+ Must be credentialed to practice by Hospital Medical Review Board
