Key Responsibilities:
Inpatient Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Infectious Diseases (ID) team to provide consultative care for hospitalized patients.
• Perform patient assessments, review laboratory and diagnostic data, and contribute to treatment plans under the guidance of ID physicians.
• Assist in antimicrobial stewardship efforts, including reviewing antibiotic usage and making evidence-based recommendations.
• Educate patients, families, and staff on infectious diseases and related treatments.
Outpatient Responsibilities):
• Manage the OPAT program, including monitoring patients on long-term intravenous antibiotics.
• Coordinate patient care transitions from inpatient to outpatient settings and arrange outpatient intravenous antibiotic care through pharmacies.
• Perform follow-up assessments, monitor lab results, and adjust treatment plans as needed in collaboration with the ID team, along with seeing post-hospital follow-up patients.
• Act as a resource for patients and caregivers, providing education on OPAT therapy and addressing concerns.
Qualifications:
• Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
• Current licensure as an NP or PA in Maryland.
• Experience in Infectious Diseases (preferred but not required).
• Prior experience in infectious diseases, hospital medicine, or related fields is strongly preferred.
• Strong clinical and communication skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
Pay Range
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
