Advanced Practitioner Per Diem - Emergency Department
Job Summary Responsibilities: The Reading Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practitioner to join our Emergency Medicine team. The Advanced Practitioner shall assist the Emergency Medicine physicians in evaluating and treating patients in the main Emergency Department. The Advanced Practitioner functions as a primary health care provider with the responsibility of managing health related problems and conditions. The APP serves as a clinical leader and works closely with the physicians in managing patients, administration of medication, order necessary labs or tests, prescriptions and appropriate documentation of patient charts. Works within specific department with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals in coordinating and delivering patient care and facilitating communication between the patient and family members, the nursing team and the medical staff functioning as a clinical expert in the area, program or department assigned. Emergency Department Highlights: Reading Hospital ED is Pennsylvania's busiest ED with more than 137,000 patients annually, including 30,000 children.
