Northrop Grumman is looking for you to join our team as a Staff Systems Engineer, leading research and development based out of Bellevue, Nebraska. This role may offer a competitive relocation package.

What you’ll get to do:

Lead research and development on prototype demonstrations supporting the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) mission areaWork with multi-disciplinary team members from numerous NG locationsProvide project management related to funding, staffing, schedule, and technical direction oversight to the internal research and developmentDrive integrated solutions for future NC3 capabilities that NG will demonstrate to partners and customersLead presentations to government representatives regarding our NC3 prototypesProduce prototypes that align to the Advanced Programs technical roadmap for the NC3 strategy.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) field with 12 years of experience; or 10 years experience with a Master’s degree; or 8 year with PhD1 year of experience with Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) systems/processes4 years of experience with scripting and coding languages such as Python1 years of experience with leading research and development efforts1 year of experience guiding Agile scrum teams1 year of experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (i.e., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)1 year of experience with model-based systems engineering tools such as Cameo Systems ModelerMust have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with other USAF strategic systems such as Sentinel, Minute Man III, B-2 or B-21 delivery systemsExperience with software defined hardware structures (i.e., software defined radars and field programmable gate arrays)Experience with modeling and simulation programs such as the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM)Experience with applying hypervisors, cross-domain solutions, multi-level security systems, or modular open systems approach to integrated systemsSelf-driven, able to tackle challenges, solve problems with minimal oversight and make recommendations for solutions/process improvement to leadershipStrong written and verbal communication skills

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
