So, what will you be doing as an Advanced Projects Engineer? + Responsible for taking products from strategic concepts to market launch. + Proactively seek new-to-industry materials and technologies with a focus towards sustainability, customer satisfaction, and providing a competitive advantage. + Independently explore, evaluate, and recommend materials, processes, and technologies for specific project applications. + Balance technical constraints and strategic goals to deliver innovative solutions. + Assess ROI metrics of potential products to inform and guide future product strategy. + Effectively manage development projects to meet both design and timeline requirements. + Prepare new developments for seamless handoff to Product Engineers. + Identify and keep abreast of industry trends, novel concepts, and markets. + Seek platform-applicable product technologies. + Design Proof of Concept (POC) and prototypes to validate bedding related product designs. + Designing and interpreting a regression analysis study with the ability to translate it into the design process is key + Assist legal counsel with the patent process while keeping current with bedding related intellectual property. + Provide input and development of new testing procedures that capture relevant real world product packaging, product handling and end consumer finished goods uses. + Gain a thorough understanding of current and past L&P product lines to help assist benchmarking of competitive product + Act as mentor to Junior Engineer position. + Provide world class customer service for both internal and external customers. + Fully support a safe working environment. + Moderate travel to include international locations To be successful in this role, you’ll need: + Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Science, Materials or related. Study concentration in design highly desirable. + 2-3 years of design experience in a component or product development environment + Experience designing consumer products preferred + Passion for researching and implementing new technologies. + Diverse communication skill set to allow for effective interaction with a wide range of L&P stakeholders. + Expert knowledge of MS Excel and SolidWorks. FEA knowledge beneficial. + Demonstrable product design and development experience. + Experience creating and interpreting product specifications and technical reports. + Proven track record of providing creative solutions and effective project management. + Designing and interpreting a regression analysis study with the ability to translate it into the design process is key + Experience applying technologies to create products or subsystems as part of larger product design + Experience with CAD tools; 3D modeling and FEA experience preferred + Working knowledge of manufacturing processes What to Do Next Now that you’ve had a chance to learn more about us, what are you waiting for!
