Advanced Research Associate (Antibody Validation)

Position Summary:

As an Advanced Research Associate you will work in the Antibody Validation Lab assisting with the validation of antibodies for Immunohistochemistry, Spatial Biology, and Western Blot.  As a member of the Antibody Validation lab, you will use high-content antibody characterization methods to generate comprehensive datasets detailing the binding of antibodies to their antigen targets.  As the Advanced Research Associate, you will be knowledgeable with Western Blotting and cell biology, and familiar methods of high-content antibody characterization, informatics, and analyzing large datasets.  In addition, you will have familiarity searching PubMed and other databases and analyzing scientific publications.  You will apply these skill sets to help analyze the correlations between antibody properties and performance in Immunohistochemistry, spatial biology, and western blot applications and will coordinate with outside departments on test schedules. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Work with team members to improve workflows for the testing of candidate antibody combinations. Evaluate the antibody/antigen binding kinetics and antibody pairing of multiple panels of antibodies. Assist with traditional Western Blotting antibody validation for new product development, data addition, and custom projects. Analyze in-process data and adjust experiments as needed, generate data reports for collaborations. Carry out troubleshooting activities daily. Miscellaneous administrative duties including printing documents and making copies; revising / reviewing SOP documents; raw materials check-in.  General lab duties including cleaning and maintenance of cleaning logs; biohazard disposal; temperature recording; formulation and filtering of in-house media/rinse solutions. Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance to the job. Performs additional duties as assigned.
