Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities
+ Collaborates and consults with other YAI staff to ensure integration, engagement and coordination with all fundraising activities in support of organizational objectives.
+ Manages a portfolio of annual giving prospects, which includes supporting stewardship efforts using applicable talking points and communication templates through calls, emails and letters of thanks to donors and supporters.
+ Coordinates personal solicitation of annual giving outreach, building relationships and using tailored messaging to engage supporters.
+ Supports peer-to-peer and Micro Philanthropy fundraising efforts in collaboration with Senior Director and Director of Special Events, coordinating campaigns and devising targeted approaches.
+ Conducts telephone solicitation to introduce annual giving and generate financial support.
+ Maintains regular contact with donors and supporters in accordance with internal guidelines, goals and expectations to support engagement.
+ Regularly documents all outreach efforts and engagements with supporters and donors, including follow-ups and categorizing donations received, in Salesforce and other electronic systems as applicable, tracking and monitoring updates and next steps relating to portfolio.
+ Generates call report templates, distributes call reports and collects information.
+ Supports campaign-related fundraising activities and YAI events, assisting with preparation, planning and implementation efforts and/or reporting on-site to provide support at YAI events across the NYC metropolitan area.
+ Provides administrative support to the department as requested, including but not limited to filing, scanning, copying, data entry and answering calls or emails.
+ Develops an understanding and awareness of private support needs, opportunities and impacts of support across the organization by engaging with YAI programs and staff on-site and/or at events and working with other members of the Advancement team on grants, solicitation, etc.
+ Identifies, confirms and reports changes to or discrepancies with donor profile contact information to Database Manager for updates in Salesforce.
+ Performs all other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements (including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)
+ High School Diploma or its educational equivalent; and
+ Four (4) years of related experience in a fundraising, government relations or communications department and/or with a non-profit organization; or
+ Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
+ Basic proficiency with computers, electronic systems, Internet and web interfaces, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and ability to quickly learn related systems (Workday, Salesforce, etc.) to complete essential tasks.
+ Enthusiasm for YAI’s mission and commitment to learning and developing a strong understanding of programs and services.
+ Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, including the ability to accurately and effectively communicate, collect and present information and engage donors through clear and concise messaging, both verbally and in writing.
+ Self-starter with a high degree of integrity.
+ Ability to work autonomously and in groups, including working collaboratively with people at all levels across YAI Network.
+ Understanding of process-driven assignments.
+ Highly organized, with good time management and follow-up skills and the ability to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks to meet prescribed timelines.
+ Ability to report on-site to our Manhattan office multiple days per week and to travel to program sites and YAI events across the New York City metropolitan area.
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evening and/or weekend hours for program visits, networking and/or fundraising events.
Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)
+ Verbal and/or written fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
+ Formal training, including college coursework or degree in a closely related field
+ Familiarity with I/DD and/or related support services
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
*This position has the potential to follow a hybrid schedule after successfully completing a probationary point.*
Salary: $65,000.00
