About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.
We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. As a residential (drive-in / drive-out) mine, Cadia values community deeply, offering both financial and in-kind support to organizations across Blayney, Cabonne, and Orange townships. The Advisor Social Performance will play a pivotal role in supporting Cadia’s social performance initiatives, ensuring our engagement with local stakeholders is timely, proactive and aligned with our company’s values. Thorough community consultation you will work closely with local community groups to respond to local issues and progress project approvals, general operations, and community projects
With your excellent communication and presentation skills you will develop and implement a thorough and targeted community engagement program to address direct social performance, environment and business risks and uphold Newmont’s Social Performance Standards.
Key responsibilities include: Develop and implement community engagement programs to address social performance, environment and business impactsContribute to all community and stakeholder communications to support community engagement activities. Develop work plans, budgets, procedures, presentations and performance reports to support the site’s social licence to operate. Complete miscellaneous assigned environmental and community projects within time, cost and quality parameters. Positively contribute to the site’s Indigenous Relations and Cultural heritage strategies.Contribute to the effective collection and/or distribution of information through the site’s stakeholder database, and other communication tools (such as the website).
Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated previous experience in cultural heritage and indigenous engagement
You will also possess the following: Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, community engagement, social performance, community psychology or a related field. Preferred. Experience in cultural heritage and Indigenous engagement Demonstrated experience that supports robust community consultation and engagement on environmental and community risks Familiarity with industry trends and regulationsStrong alignment of personal values and Newmont valuesManual Drivers Licence
