The Role / Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Moody’s Analytics Structured Finance Advisory Services Team. As a member of the team, the Associate will be at the forefront of industry developments and will be exposed to ABS/RMBS financial modelling and product development to follow market trends.

The Associate will be responsible for performing configuration, customization, and documentation related work for Moody’s Analytics Issuer Solutions ("MA Issuer Solutions") products. The role involves financial modelling, analytics, collateral stratification analysis and technology infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting research to study the complex business of securitization and working closely with clients and MA professionalsConverting detailed written ‘payment priorities’ into financial models using our proprietary software applicationsProviding support to existing MA Issuer Solutions clientsCollaborating with other members of the MA Issuer Solutions implementation team to implement and configure Moody’s proprietary ABS Suite Plus structured finance software productsAdvising clients on improving their securitization process to meet industry and regulatory reporting requirementsDeveloping expertise in reading securitization legal documents and identifying key structural termsBuilding reports using Crystal Reports, Microsoft SSRS and ExcelDeveloping business requirements, designing, and executing SQL queries, and testing solutions to ensure they meet client requirementsInteracting with clients to discuss, explain and reconcile data the modelling/reporting resultsAssisting clients by answering business related questions with the applicationsAssisting the team on technical presentations and travelling as needed to client sites for on-site visits

Qualifications / Experience:

Undergraduate or graduate degree with emphasis in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, math, computer science or related quantitative field1-3 years of exposure to banking, credit and/or financial industryBackground in structured finance, preferably on the issuer side (mortgages, auto loans, servicing loans, originating loans, and/or securitization of loans) is advantageousStrong quantitative skills and the ability to translate analysis into actionable tasksSpreadsheet modelling skillsEfficient approach to problem solvingDedicated to customer focusWorking knowledge of RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems) conceptsKnowledge of SSRS, Crystal Reports experience is a plusSome coding experience (for example: SQL queries, VBA, Python) is advantageousAbility to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage ambiguityAbility to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levelsStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlinesRelevant working experience in areas such as mortgage and asset-backed securities, accounting firms, mortgage banking, loan servicing, fixed income investments, or rating agencies is a plus (minimum of 6 months experience)10% travel is required
