Community Hab Program Manager
The Arc Erie County New York has been supporting children and adults with disabilities, and their families in achieving their desired quality of life by creating opportunities through comprehensive services for over 65 years. Our Position: We are currently seeking a Community Hab Program Manager to provide oversight to our Community Habilitation and/or Vocational Service people we support. This position also involves: + Providing direct supervision to the direct care staff providing services. The Program Manager is responsible for the oversight of the delivery of these services and supports. + Oversees direct care services to people we support in areas such as, but not limited to activities of daily living, self-care skills, travel training, money management, community integration and connections, cooking and cleaning skills. + Coordinates interviews and is responsible for hiring, orientation, scheduling and ongoing development of direct care staff, including annual evaluations. Our Rate of Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour Our Requirements: + Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or a closely related developmental disabilities field PLUS one year of experience working with people with disabilities OR Associate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or a closely related developmental disabilities field PLUS three years of experience working with people with disabilities OR High School or equivalent diploma PLUS five years of experience working with people with developmental disabilities PLUS It is essential that the Program Manager have good communication skills – both oral and written. Ability to supervise activities of staff members and program participants is required. Must have manual dexterity, visual acuity in normal range, and the ability to work alone and with others. A valid New York State Driver’s License and approved driving record. Ownership or access to an insured car in good operating condition is desirable. Job Description Job Title: Community Habilitation Program Manager Department: VES Job Grade: 4 Position Summary: Oversee the delivery of Habilitative services to individuals who reside either in the community or in a certified residence. Provides direct supervision to Direct Support Professionals (DSP’s) as they provide services to individuals. Reporting Relationship: Receives direct supervision from the Coordinator of Community Support Services. Provides supervision to Direct Support Professionals employed in the Community Habilitation Program. Job Duties and Responsibilities: + Oversees direct care services to people we support in areas such as, but not limited to activities of daily living, self-care skills, travel training, money management, community integration and connections, cooking and communication skills. + Ensures that staff are properly trained to work with individuals with varying disabilities, using proactive behavioral approaches. + Ensures that staff are trained in safety through maintaining safety standards, familiarity with emergency safety procedures and ensuring regular training to people we support. + Assures that people we support receive assistance and/or training for shopping for clothing, personal items and groceries as needed. + Coordinates group activities to maximize service billing and provide quality activities for individuals. + Ensures that staff production rates are consistent with department goals. + Completes all required documentation for the people we support (i.e. monthly summaries) and agency records; oversees maintenance of those records as appropriate. + Ensures people we support receive training in home safety. + Coordinates the development of intervention/training objectives. Participates in annual/semiannual Life plan mtgs as scheduled. + Monitors and/or assists in the assessment of the people we support’s skills and behavior. + Evaluates program data and progress. + Communicates/collaborates with individuals, families, Care Coordination, and any other agency/programs. + Coordinates regular staff meetings and training as well as attend supervisory conferences and other assigned meetings. + Ensures that staff complete all necessary assigned training throughout the year. + Assures confidentiality of information about people we support. + Monitors and follows procedures for staff expenditures in petty cash, mileage and other expenses. + Coordinates interviews and is responsible for hiring, orientation, scheduling and ongoing development of direct care staff, including annual evaluations. + Responds to emergency phone calls as needed. + Completes routine paperwork responsibilities and other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Community Support Services. Receives weekly and/or as needed supervision from the Coordinator of Community Support Services.
