Our Fitness Centers provide medically based fitness programs that focus on the prevention and treatment of lifestyle-related disease, illness, and injury through regular participation in physical activity, disease management and health education. As an Aerobics Instructor, you will lead several types of aerobics programs and activities, including but not limited to: Zumba, TRX, Pilates, Kickboxing, Aqua Aerobics, Step, Boot Camp, Resistance training, Cardio-interval, Spinning, Core strength, Muscle conditioning. Our instructors are responsible for physical assessments, exercise prescription, exercise floor coverage, equipment cleanliness/preventive maintenance, policy enforcement, member exercise incentive programming and always delivering excellent customer service. The ideal future caregiver is someone who: * Is outgoing and empathetic. * Demonstrates a strong work ethic and desire to learn. * Has knowledge of the principles of exercise. * Has both verbal and written communication skills. * Has knowledge of aerobic techniques. When you join Cleveland Clinic, you'll be part of a supportive caregiver family that will be united in shared values and purpose to fulfill our promise of being the best place to receive care and the best place to work in healthcare. **Responsibilities:** + Continual supervision of all fitness/aerobics areas during class times to provide a safe, effective and motivating environment for physical activity. + Set up facility for any activity that is needed for assigned class. + Remain flexible in staffing patterns and resolution of staffing conflicts. + Facilitation of at least two classes per week. + Other duties as assigned. **Education:** + High School Diploma or GED. **Languages:** + N/A **Certifications:** + Appropriate certification as determined by classes, i.e., National Dance Exercise Instructor's Training (NDEITA), American Council on Exercise (ACE), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Aerobics Association International (AAAI) or any current professional certification from a nationally recognized organization in the health/fitness industry. + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification if needed. **Complexity of Work:** + Needs to physically be able to demonstrate techniques/skills and modifications for various fitness levels. + Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. + Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. **Work Experience:** + Minimum of 1 year teaching expertise in specialty area required. **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to physically execute all classes. + Ability to pick up a 25 pound weight. **Personal Protective Equipment:** + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
