Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2025 Aeronautical Engineer (MS/PhD Propulsion) Intern. In this role, responsibilities will include defining inlet geometries in CATIA v5, analyzing installed propulsion performance, and Computational Fluid Dynamic simulation and analysis . The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulation, integration, or analysis, Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience, and relevant fluids and aerodynamics coursework. Must be a US Citizen, this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing Master's or PhD degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Needs a good understanding (coursework or related research) in aerodynamics, compressible flow, and propulsion
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• We are looking for someone that is interested in propulsion flowpath design (inlets and nozzles)
• Experience with a CAD tool is a plus
• Looking for someone that is inquisitive and is willing to try new concepts/designs
• Needs a curiosity to dig into the details of the flowfield to try and understand what is going on and provide options for design changes to improve the flow
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
